Overview

This Contest is designed to give Student Price Card Ltd. (hereinafter the “Sponsor”) members and fans a chance to win a fly-away VIP experience to New York City. The VIP Experience will be a 3-night trip in December 2019.

Contest Period

The “Contest Period” starts at 12:00 am ET on August 26, 2019 and ends at 11:59 pm ET on October 16, 2019.

The Contest Sponsor

Student Price Card Ltd., 999 Edgeley Blvd, Unit 1, Suite A, Vaughan, Ontario, L4K 5Z4.

Eligibility

This Contest is open to persons who are, at the time of entry, of the age of 14 or older and legal residents of Canada, including the Province of Quebec. Any entrants under the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence, will require parental consent to participate. Void where prohibited by law.

To be eligible for this Contest, on-line entries must be received on or before October 16, 2019, 11:59 pm ET. Incomplete or late entries will not be accepted.

Employees, officers, and directors of the Sponsor, and each of their affiliates, subsidiaries or agents, their respective advertising or promotional agencies, their media sponsors, or the third parties engaged by Sponsor to assist it in administering the Contest or a member of any such individual’s immediate family (regardless of where they live) or persons with whom they are domiciled (whether related to the employee or not) are prohibited from participating in the Contest. In these Official Contest Rules, “immediate family” includes mother, father, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, partner and/or spouse.

How to Enter

To enter the Contest, visit to the Contest website at www.SPCcard.ca/SPCWin (the “Website”) to submit entry. If you are a new visitor, you must unlock the Contest using your SPC Card Number then register on the site by fully completing all the required information including your name, email address, address, city, postal code. You must then confirm your agreement to these Official Contest Rules. If you are a returning visitor, you can visit the Website, and log into your account.

Once logged into your account, follow the website instructions to enter collected PIN codes to redeem entries.

There are various ways to collect PIN codes to enter for a chance to win the Grand Prize in this Contest as described below:

Unlock the contest and complete profile: Redeem one (1) entry when you register for the contest, complete your profile and agree to the Contest terms and conditions.
Registering your SPC Card: Register your SPC Card on the SPC website (www.spccard.ca) or on the SPC Card App and receive a PIN to enter the contest:
1. If you registered your SPC Card prior to August 26, 2019, SPC will email you on August 26 with a PIN to redeem five (5) entries on the contest Website.
2. If you register your SPC Card during the Contest Period, you will receive a PIN in your registration confirmation email. Submit the PIN on the contest Website to redeem five (5) entries.

Engage on Social Media: From the Website, click the appropriate links to follow SPC Card and gain entries through use of hashtags:
1. Follow SPC on Instagram – redeem five (5) entries

3. Follow SPC on Twitter – redeem two (2) entries
4. Follow SPC on Snapchat – redeem four (4) entries
5. Use #SPCWin on Instagram posts – redeem two (2) entries / post
SPC’s Email Newsletter: Opt-in to receive the SPC Newsletter. SPC will release PIN codes in their newsletters during the contest period. Input the PIN on the Website to redeem three (3) entries per PIN.
SPC’s Social Media Pages: SPC will release PIN codes via social media during the contest period. Input the PIN on the Website to redeem three (3) entries per PIN.

Participating Retailers: Participating retail partners will have PIN codes on display in store and/or on-line. Input that PIN on the Website to redeem five (5) entries for each retail brand you visit. The Sponsor is not responsible for PIN codes that are not distributed by the retailer or if PIN is not requested at the time of purchase. Check the contest Website for the list of participating retailers. Limit one (1) PIN per retailer.

No purchase necessary: To receive one (1) entry without a purchase (while supplies last),send a handwritten request including your Full Name, age, Street Address and Unit Number, City, Province, Postal Code, Daytime Telephone Number including Area Code, E-mail Address, and a unique handwritten essay of 100 to 250 words on why you love SPC Card on a plain white piece of paper and mail it, bearing sufficient postage, to: SPC VIP Experience Contest: Entry Request, Student Price Card Ltd., 999 Edgeley Blvd, Unit 1, Suite A, Vaughan, Ontario, L4K 5Z4. All request should be printed not written in cursive. Mail in requests must be received no later than October 9, 2019 to allow adequate time for processing. All requests become the exclusive property of the Sponsor. Proof of sending or submission will not be deemed to be proof of receipt by the Sponsor. The Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible, illegible, misdirected or postage-due requests, which will not be honoured. To receive multiple entries, the entrant can send multiple handwritten requests. Each handwritten request must include the components described above and be sent in its own separate envelope bearing sufficient postage.

No responsibility is assumed by the Sponsor, their affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotional agencies, the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (“CIBC”),and their respective directors, officers, employees and assigns (the “Contest Parties”),for any disruption to telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software or failure of any entry to be received because of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site, or any combination thereof, as well as lost, misdirected, illegible or late entries which for any reason are not received.

Prize

One (1) Grand Prize Winner will receive one (1) VIP weekend trip for two (2) to New York City. The VIP weekend shall include:

Round-trip air transportation from the major airport closest to the winner’s home residence
One (1) double room for three (3) nights at a four-star hotel selected by the Sponsor
VIP passes to the Jingle Ball in New York in December 2019 – Exact date to be announced
$2000 USD spending money provided by CIBC
VIP skate passes at the Rockefeller Center
Dinner on first night of the trip, Lunch and Dinner on the second and third night, and Breakfast on final morning; all restaurants selected by the Sponsor or meal allowance provided
Personal SUV transportation for winner and guest(s) to and from Jingle Ball and Rockefeller Center.
If the Grand Prize Winner is under the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence, a third trip will be added for a parent/guardian to accompany the contest winner as a second guest. The parent/guardian would receive their own single occupancy room at the same four-star hotel as the winner and the same meals will be provided.

Approximate retail value of the Grand Prize is $10,000 to 15,000 CAD (based on sample Vancouver departure). The Grand Prize is valid only for the selected winner and their guest(s) and is not transferable, assignable or convertible to cash except as otherwise provided herein and must be accepted as awarded. No substitution shall be permitted. All other expenses not specifically mentioned herein are solely the responsibility of the Grand Prize Winner and their guest(s).

Odds of Winning

Odds of winning the Grand Prize depends on the number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period.

Winner Selection

Entries received online as well as mail in entries will be included in the draw for the Grand Prize to be held by a representative of SPC Card in Vaughan, ON. One (1) random draw to select one (1) potential winner will be conducted on October 17, 2019 at 11:00am ET.

If your entry has been selected as eligible to win the Grand Prize, you will be notified by email and/or telephone. Up to two (2) attempts will be made to contact potential winners at the telephone number or e-mail address used to register on the Website or in the mail in request between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm ET. If an entrant cannot be contacted within three (3) business days, that entrant is no longer eligible to win the Grand Prize in this Contest.

Requirements of Winner

Before being declared the Grand Prize Winner, the selected entrant will be required to:

Correctly answer, unaided, a time limited mathematical skill testing question; and
Sign and return within three (3) business days of notification the Sponsor’s declaration and release form, which among other things:
1. Confirm entrant and selected guest’s ages and whether they require a parent/guardian to accompany them;
2. Confirm compliance with these Contest Rules and acceptance of the Grand Prize as awarded;
3. Release the Contest Parties and each of their respective officers, directors, agents, representatives, successors and assigns from any liability in connection with this Contest, the selected entrant’s and his/her guest(s)’s participation therein and/or the awarding and use/misuse of the Grand Prize or any portion thereof; and
4. Consents to the publication, reproduction and/or other use of the selected entrant’s name, likeness, and photographs/video taken by the Sponsor during Grand Prize VIP weekend without further notice or compensation, in any publicity or advertisement carried out by the Sponsor in any manner whatsoever, including print, broadcast or the Internet.

If the selected entrant fails to correctly answer the skill testing question or fails to return the contest documents within the specified time, then that entrant will be deemed to have forfeited any rights to the Grand Prize and a back-up entrant may be selected in the same manner by random draw taken from the same pool of eligible entries.

Delivery

The Grand Prize VIP weekend shall occur for 3 nights in December 2019, on the weekend of the Jingle Ball in New York – Exact dated to be announced.

General
1. All entries become the property of the Sponsor and none shall be returned.
2. All decisions regarding this Contest and the selection of the winners remain with the Sponsor and its promotional agencies and are final.

No Prize substitutions will be made, except for the right of the Sponsor to make a Prize substitution of equivalent or greater value in the event the Grand Prize is unavailable for reasons beyond the Sponsor’s control.

The Contest Parties are not responsible for printing, distribution or production errors and may terminate or withdraw this Contest without liability at their sole discretion.
BY PARTICIPATING IN THIS CONTEST, THE ENTRANTS AGREE TO RELEASE, DISCHARGE, INDEMNIFY, AND HOLD HARMLESS THE SPONSOR, CONTEST PARTIES, CIBC, FACEBOOK, TWITTER AND INSTAGRAM, AND EACH OF THEIR RESPECTIVE DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES AND ASSIGNS FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS AND LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR IN ANY WAY CONNECTED WITH ENTRANT’S PARTICIPATION IN THE CONTEST, THE OPERATION OF THIS CONTEST, OR USE OF A PRIZE. PRIZE WINNERS ASSUME ALL LIABILITY FOR ANY INJURY OR DAMAGE CAUSED, OR CLAIMED TO BE CAUSED, BY PARTICIPATION IN THIS CONTEST OR USE OR REDEMPTION OF A PRIZE. BY PARTICIPATING IN THIS CONTEST, ENTRANTS AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THE OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES AND THE DECISIONS OF THE SPONSOR.
By entering this Contest all entrants agree to the use of their name, address (city and province only),photograph, and/or image on social media for publicity purposes relating exclusively to this Contest without compensation.

The Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any individual that it finds to be violating these official Contest Rules, tampering with the entry process or tampering with the operation of the website. The Sponsor reserves the right to refuse an entry from a person whose eligibility is in question or who has been disqualified or is otherwise ineligible to enter. Any attempt by anyone to deliberately alter or damage this website and/or to undermine the legitimate operation of this promotion is in violation of criminal and civil laws and the Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages or other legal remedy to the fullest extent permitted by law.
The Sponsor reserves the right, subject to the approval of the Regie des alcools, des courses et des jeux (”RACJ”) to terminate or amend this Contest at any time and in any way, without prior notice. Without limiting the foregoing, if, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as originally planned, as a result of tampering, technical corruption, infection by computer virus, events beyond the Sponsor’s reasonable control, etc., the Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, subject to the approval of the RACJ, to abbreviate, modify, suspend, cancel or terminate the Contest without notice or further obligation. If the Sponsor, in its discretion, elects to abbreviate the Contest as a result of such event, the Sponsor reserves the right, but shall have no obligation, to award prizes from among all valid and eligible entries received up to the time of such event. The Sponsor and any independent Contest organization shall not be held responsible for any problems, errors or negligence that may arise or occur in connection with the Contest, including, but not limited to, any damage to an entrant’s computer equipment, system, software or any combination thereof, as a result of the entrant’s participation in this Contest. No liability or responsibility is assumed by the Sponsor resulting from user attempts to participate in this Contest or if required, download any information necessary to participate in this Contest.

This Contest and the terms and conditions contained in these official Contest Rules, shall be exclusively governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any dispute arising hereunder shall be adjudicated solely in the applicable court in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Entrants hereby agree and consent to the collection of his/her personal information for the purposes of administrating this Contest unless the entrant has lawfully consented to the use of their personal information for other purposes listed at the time of consent, as permitted by the Personal Information Protection and Electronics Documents Act. Prize Winners’ information shall be disclosed to the Sponsor, specifically the Prize Winner’s name, mailing address, telephone number and/or e-mail address, as this information is required to award a Prize in this Contest. Where applicable, this Contest is subject to all federal, provincial and municipal laws.

This Contest is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

LEGAL RESIDENTS OF QUEBEC ONLY: Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
